Rest In Paradise, Eva Cassidy

February 2, 1963-November 2, 1996

The beautiful songstress tragically passed away 14 years ago today at Age 33 from complications with Melanoma, a less-common condition of skin cancer.  While alive, she recorded multiple songs and covers and hit the D.C local music scene hard, but never really broke out beyond that until after her death, where her posthumous recordings became incredibly popular, including her compilation “Songbird”, that went #1 in the U.S, the U.K and Ireland upon it’s release in 1998, two years after her death.

Eva, you’ve inspired me greatly, just from reading about your story and your music has gotten me through a lot in these past few years that I discovered your songs.  You had the voice of an angel and the world truly loss a wonderful soul.

Rest In Paradise.  You will continue inspiring people from the legacy you left behind.  Thank You.
